Love this moment from Susan & Pablo’s Wedding at Sole Repair Shop in Capitol Hill. They had just walked up the aisle from the ceremony and are looking at each other for the first time as an official married couple.
I just noticed people using the hashtag #momentsovermountains and I love it! Pictures of real moments at weddings are the ones that will hold the most value to you in the future. Climbing a mountain just for a photo, or hiking to some waterfall, might be fun, but I think it can sometimes be a little superficial. Like trying to create a photo that will get the most likes rather than capturing something real. I know the photos that I really value and hold dear are the ones that bring back a memory or remind me of something I felt. You can’t fake a look like the one they are giving each other!
Well it’s been way too long since I’ve blogged anything, but it’s been a busy spring shooting various projects so I’ve let the weeds grow around here a little bit. Now that wedding season is starting to get in full swing I’m trying to get back into blogging mode. We’re also still tweaking the layout of the website so please excuse any funky formatting you see.
These pictures are from a recent shoot down at Discovery Park in Magnolia. I can’t wait for Meredith & Joe’s wedding, which is coming up soon in Downtown Seattle. They have such great chemistry and it shows in front of the camera. People always ask what they need to do for engagement or wedding portraits, and it’s super simple actually. Just be yourselves and do what comes naturally and the pictures will turn out awesome!
Lauren and Steve’s wedding at Sand Point Country Club & Our Lady of the Lake Church. After the ceremony we headed down to Magnuson Park for the bride and groom portraits. The weather that day was on our side because we got beautiful sun light, combined with angry skies from an approaching thunderstorm. Had a great time with them and their family’s.
Ioanna & James commissioned me to photograph their intimate courthouse wedding in downtown Seattle recently. We did a few portraits before the wedding at the 4 Seasons Hotel where they got ready, then headed a few blocks across town in Uber’s to the courthouse where their friends and family met up for the ceremony.
